Julia and her partner have nurtured a deep passion for contemporary art over the years. Living and working in London, a couple have had ample opportunities to immerse themselves in the art world. Currently residing in Mallorca with their two children, they have curated an impressive collection comprising works from both local artists and those hailing from various parts of the globe, with pieces including Andy Warhol, Leigh David, Laura Jordan, Rob Tucker, Santiago Picatoste, amongst many others.
Reflecting on the genesis of her art journey, Julia fondly reminisces, “During out time in London, whilst working in digital media, my partner and I had serendipitously crossed paths with one of the prominent figures in the art world Victoria Miro, who played a pivotal role in educating and guiding them through the intricacies of contemporary art and investments. “We primarily acquired pieces that resonated with our personal taste rather than focusing solely on their monetary value,” Julia recounts.
A growing sense of confinement due to the London’s gloomy weather and perpetual rainfall, the couple made the decision to move to Marllorca, her partner commuted from London while Julia and their eldest child resided in Mallorca permanently.
“While most of our collection remained in London, we began to collect works by local artists here in Mallorca. Some of our most cherished pieces include those by Arturo Rhodes”, associated with the renowned ‘La Residencia’ hotel during Richard Branson’s ownership.
